Storyline
The plot follows a young runaway named Cookie, who arrives in New York City and becomes a prostitute. She befriends a group of fellow sex workers, including a hardened veteran named Queen Bee. However, Cookie soon finds herself in danger when she falls in love with a charismatic pimp named Duke, who is involved in a dangerous criminal underworld.
As Cookie tries to escape Duke's control and find a way out of the sex trade, she becomes embroiled in a series of escalating conflicts with Duke and his associates. Along the way, she discovers the dark realities of life on the streets, as well as the strength and resilience of the women who work alongside her.
The film features a talented cast, including Melissa Leo as Cookie, Dale Midkiff as Duke, and Annie Potts as Queen Bee. It explores themes of power, exploitation, and survival, as well as the complex relationships that develop between sex workers and their clients, pimps, and fellow workers.
